MARLIE HACO

Dramaturg for blue bottles

4-7 November 2021

Lion and Unicorn Theatre

I am a theatre director & dramaturg living and creating work in London. After training in acting and directing at the Central School of Speech and Drama, I completed an English Literature degree at Cambridge University. I now specialise in collaborating with playwrights to develop bold new work for the stage. I am particularly drawn to text-based, character-driven stories that seek to unearth the complexities of our psychologies & relationships while giving voice to those traditionally not seen or heard. Having danced for many years, I’ve always been drawn to the prospect of storytelling through movement and music and love to explore how aspects of a narrative that may resist verbal expression can be told through physical means.

Recent work includes: Proud (2021), Lovesick (2021), blue bottles (2021), Words Without Consent (2021), Chinese Boxing (2020/2021), Follow my Fingers (2019)
